Espial IPTV Continues to Strengthen its Executive Team with the Addition of Dave Williamson, VP Sales

November 3 , 2006 - Espial® IPTV, the leading provider of IPTV middleware and applications, today announced that Dave Williamson has joined Espial to lead the company’s worldwide sales team. With more than 23 years of high-tech experience and a background in telecom software, Williamson’s leadership and industry knowledge will help Espial drive growing sales for Espial’s flagship Evo® IPTV Service Platform with service providers worldwide.

Williamson previously held the position of Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Bridgewater Systems where he secured contracts with major wireline and wireless operators around the globe, and managed channel reseller and OEM relationships with major network equipment vendors. Prior to Bridgewater, Williamson was Regional VP of Sales at both Borland and Rational Software (now IBM) and in executive positions at other technology companies in Ottawa, ON and Boston, MA.

“I’ve encountered Espial’s IPTV middleware in many of my accounts over the past few years and have been impressed with the strength of Evo IPTV and its superior subscriber experience and fast performance,” said Williamson. “I look forward to working closely with Espial’s customers as we provide them a growing suite of interactive IPTV applications.”

Espial’s products are being deployed to over 500,000 IPTV subscribers and the company was recently named the #1 IPTV client middleware vendor by ABI Research. With key customers such as NTT, Belgacom, OnCommand, LodgeNet, and partners including Siemens/Myrio, Motorola, Sumitomo, Tilgin, Amino, Dasan, Thomson, and Philips, Espial’s leadership in IPTV and consumer services spans over nine years. Over 2.5 million consumers have already experienced Espial technology, from hotel interactive TV and VOD services through OnCommand and LodgeNet, to interactive interfaces in BMW vehicles and Hitachi TVs, to leading deployments with Telcos in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

“Dave will bring his customer-focused approach and industry expertise in the IP industry to solidify Espial’s leadership position in IPTV,” said Espial President & CEO Jaison Dolvane. “His telecom software sales experience and technical knowledge is a great fit for us and we’re extremely excited to have him join the Espial team.”

Espial’s Evo IPTV service platform has been in high demand by carriers rolling out IPTV services. Evo’s turbo-fast performance, openness, and modularity have attracted service provider customers across the globe and driven Espial’s IPTV revenue growth to 100% annually over the past three years. Evo is the only IPTV platform available that allows operators to purchase best-of-breed components separately or as part of a pre-integrated middleware solution.

Williamson earned his Bachelor of Computing Science & Statistics (Honours) at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON.
